Policies
These policies apply to all InitiatED spaces — online, in sessions, and in correspondence. They are grounded in our community agreements, not legal boilerplate.
Community Agreements
InitiatED operates by a set of community agreements developed collaboratively. They apply in all our spaces.
- Start from care. Assume good intent, name harm when it occurs, repair when possible.
- Make space, take space. Share the floor. If you talk a lot, make room. If you're quiet, know you're welcome.
- Disagree without dismissing. Challenge ideas, not identities. Critique the argument, not the person.
- Protect what's shared here. Personal disclosures made in sessions stay in sessions. Ask before quoting or sharing someone else's words externally.
- Name your lens. We all have perspectives shaped by where we come from. Say so when it's relevant.
- Expect and accept non-closure. Hard conversations don't always resolve. That's okay. Stay in them anyway.
Code of Conduct
We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or abuse in any form — including on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, religion, age, or socioeconomic status.
This includes:
- Slurs, derogatory language, or targeted attacks
- Deliberate misgendering or deadnaming
- Intimidation or threats
- Sharing someone's private information without consent (doxxing)
- Sustained disruption of sessions or communications
Violations may result in removal from the community. We handle these situations with care and directness, not bureaucracy.
Content & Intellectual Property
Content published on this site is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 unless otherwise noted. You are free to share and adapt it with attribution and under the same license.
Materials shared within Signpost Sessions cohorts belong to the people who created them. Do not reproduce, publish, or sell cohort materials without explicit permission from their creators.
Privacy
We don't track you, sell your data, or run third-party analytics on this site. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Nomination & Award Policies
The Divergent Awards nomination process is open to all. Nominees need not be present in the community to be nominated, but award decisions consider community impact and alignment with our values.
We do not award organizations or corporate entities — only individuals, teams, and collectives.
See the Divergent Awards page for full process details and timelines.
Reporting
If you experience or witness a violation of these policies, please contact us. Reports are handled with care and confidentiality. We do not require proof — trust that something felt wrong is enough to report.
