We chose the name Signpost Sessions carefully.

In uncertain times, it is tempting to look for heroes. We look for the expert with the perfect plan, the guru with the right framework, or the leader who promises to fix everything for us.

But when you are truly lost in the woods, you don’t need a hero. You need a sign.

What We Mean by a Signpost

A signpost is humble. It does not shout. It does not pretend to solve everything. It simply helps you notice where you are and what direction might matter.

In this project, a signpost is not someone who has it all figured out. It is a person, a practice, or a story that helps others find a little more direction when the path is unclear.

It is not about perfection. It is about presence.

  • It is the teacher who admits they are tired but shares what keeps them going.
  • It is the organizer who passes along something useful that helped their community.
  • It is the quiet naming of what is breaking, so other people do not feel alone in seeing it.

Why We Need Signposts Now

Hope is often sold to us as an individual trait, something you either have or you do not. We think it works more like a shared practice. People help each other stay oriented. People help each other keep going. People point to what matters.

That is part of what Signpost Sessions is trying to do.

In this series, we are gathering to do three things together:

  1. See: Name the reality of where we are.
  2. Sense: Notice what sustains us and what patterns are emerging.
  3. Show: Turn those insights into something useful for other people.

We invite you to join us. Not to be fixed, but to find company, direction, and a little more clarity.
