Every community project begins with a story.

The Signpost Series began because many of us are experiencing similar emotions at this time. We are navigating uncertainty, the world feels overwhelming, and our systems feel strained.

We know that when people are given space to slow down, reflect, and speak honestly, things get clearer. We don’t need another app or another to-do list. We need a place to just be.

This series is our way of holding that space.

What Are the Signpost Sessions?

The Signpost Series is a slow, community-driven journey focused on noticing what is happening in our lives and deciding how to respond to it.

Together, we aim to:

  • Slow down and step out of the noise.
  • Listen to one another with a “strong spine and a soft heart.”
  • Gather real-life experiences.
  • Move from just watching the world to taking action within it.

You might think of this project as a digital campfire. A place to rest, listen, and figure out where to go next.

Why “Signpost”?

In moments of uncertainty, signposts help us find our way. They don’t tell us exactly where to go. They simply mark the landscape. They say: “Notice this.”

Your stories are those signposts. Small markers of hope, struggle, or insight that help others navigate their own paths.

How It Works

This isn’t a rigid program. We will move through three themes this spring, each lasting about six weeks:

1. See (The Witness)Starts Jan/Feb. We practice noticing. What is actually happening in your daily life? We observe without judging it immediately.

2. Sense (The Feeling)Starts March. We explore how those observations land in us. Do you feel tension? Relief? Grief? We listen to what our bodies and minds are telling us.

3. Show (The Action)Starts April/May. We decide what to do next. How do we turn these feelings into action? Whether that’s a conversation, a project, or a change in habit.

Ways to Participate

The Weekly Flow : We will provide simple prompts and exercises for you to try on your own time. No deadlines, no pressure.

The Hearth (Community) : We use Signal (a private messaging app) for day-to-day communication and Jitsi for occasional video conferences. These live calls are the anchors of our community. A place to see friendly faces and talk things through.

Your Contributions : You are invited to share your findings. This might be a text via email, a voice note dropped into our chat, or a blog post of your own.

What Makes This Different

The Signpost Series is not a course. It’s not a webinar. There are no grades and no certificates.

It is a shared record of what it means to be human in the present, written by the people living it.

How to Join Us

There is no expectation that you do everything.

  • Join as a Listener: Read the prompts and think about them.
  • Join as a Storyteller: Share your voice or writing.
  • Join as a Collaborator: Chat with us in the group and join the video calls.

All forms of participation are welcome. The structure is designed to meet you where you are. Even if you are currently on the “struggle bus.”

In the weeks ahead, we’ll share the first invitation for the “See” theme here and on our social channels.
